Fit2Aim putter

Background

For me, "Putter Sensei" has a collaborative meaning. It relates to my Japanese-American background, the systematic way I teach based on aim and the results my students get from the training.

The Japanese word, "sensei" means teacher and some of my students began calling me "sensei". Since I have a special interest in putting, one of my students suggested I use "Putter Sensei" to describe my teaching.

The Chris Aoki Putting Method

As a young golfer, I couldn't putt well and was determined to figure out why I was worse than everyone else. I could shoot 76 with 36 putts. I never won "low putts" in any competition. I thought having 36 putts was good!

I understand when other golfers feel the same way so my intense interest in putting continues. I developed a systematic, easy to understand, way of training and teaching putting.

The Putter - Student Relationship

As the inventor of Fit2Aim, a putter manufacturing company, the mission is to improve the accuracy of aim by the design of the putter. A process for determining the design is the Chris Aoki Fitting Method.

Once a Fit2Aim putter is in the golfer's hands, putting can be taught more systematically by reducing compensations, learning uncomplicated mechanics, developing feel and thinking instinctively.

Here's an example of how Putter Sensei really has meaning for me. The Japanese swordsman uses an exquisitely forged sword balanced and custom-made just for him. The sword sensei's teaching instructs the swordsman on how to move swiftly and efficiently using his sword. His training moves him with confidence and ease.

So a Fit2Aim putter, like the sword, is fit for the player, the teacher can now instruct and get the same kind of results as the swordsman.

Consistency

Instruction

This systematic way of teaching is described as Putter Sensei Putting Lessons and because it's very effective in a group setting, Putter Sensei Putting Schools I and II are available as well as Putter Sensei Putting Clinics. In this way, the message is clear that we have defined a brand name for our putting lessons and putting schools that have the mentorship to achieve the specific goal of learning about putting based on aim.

Repeatability

Confidence

Results!

I teach Putter Sensei Clinics, Putter Sensei Putting Schools and Putter Sensei Lessons in the Greater Seattle area and around the U. S.

Putter Sensei Putting Clinics

What's the most important factor in putting well? Many golfers would say it's a good putting stroke. Others might say it takes practice. I see the greatest amount of improvement when the putter is aimed at the intended target. This clinic is an introduction to the importance of aim and how to improve aim. The putting stroke is improved after the aim is addressed. Situations will be presented in which aim is crucial to putting well.

Putter Sensei Putting Schools

Putter Sensei Putting School I covers a repeatable routine for the address position including aim, putter position, stance, grip and posture. The fundamentals of the putting stroke including balance, turn, release and timing are presented all based on aim.

Putter Sensei Putting School II starts with a short review of School I. How to achieve proper speed and distance are discussed which brings us to how to read greens. You must be able to aim in order to read green accurately. Learning to read greens is experienced through the interplay of examples based on aim.

Putter Sensei Putting Lessons

Individual lessons in putting are also available in which the fundamentals of the address position and putting stroke are taught based on aim. Progress is determined by the ability of each individual.
